Abstract

This study analyse the political discourse in Michael Heart’s song We Will Not Go Down as a form of lyrical resistance to the Israel military aggression at Gaza. This Research use a qualitative descriptive method and document analysis, the research applies Teun A. van Dijk Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) by focusing solely on the macrostructure to identify dominant themes and ideological stances in the lyrics. The data include the song’s lyrics, political statements, and humanitarian reports. Findings suggest that the song conveys a strong anti-colonial narrative and critiques global silence, demonstrating how a music able to function as political resistance.
