Abstract

ABSTRACT Helti Pration Nuswantari, 2025. Integration of Reog Ponorogo Values in Indonesian Language Learning in Grade 6 of SDN 2 Sukorejo, Sukorejo District, Ponorogo Regency (Case Study) Thesis. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Postgraduate School of PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor I: Dr. Dwi Setiyadi, M.M, Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S, M.Pd. This study aims to describe and explain the planning, implementation, and challenges in integrating the cultural values of Reog Ponorogo into Indonesian language learning in Grade VI at SDN 2 Sukorejo, Sukorejo Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects included one classroom teacher, the school principal, and 19 sixth-grade students. The results indicate that the teacher designed Indonesian language learning by integrating Reog Ponorogo cultural content through activities such as watching performance videos, writing narrative and descriptive texts based on Reog characters, and composing reports based on interviews with local cultural figures. This implementation successfully increased students' interest, writing skills, speaking confidence, and understanding of local culture. Although there were obstacles such as limited prior knowledge of students, lack of resources, and varying levels of writing ability, the teacher overcame them through creative strategies such as culture-based worksheets, visual media, and individualized guidance. The integration of Reog culture has proven to enhance students’ literacy skills while fostering a love for local heritage.
