Muhamad Samsul Arifin. 2025. Implementation of the Use of Personal Travel Photo Media in Learning to Write Travel Reports for Grade IV Students of SDN 1 Gegeran, Sukorejo District, Ponorogo Regency. Thesis, Master of Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor 1 Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd., Supervisor 2 Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, SS, M.Pd. This study aims to describe and explain the planning, implementation, challenges, and solutions in utilizing personal travel photos as a medium in teaching travel report writing to fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Gegeran, Sukorejo Sub-district, Ponorogo Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of this research were the fourth-grade teacher and 20 students who were actively involved in the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis of students' written work. The results show that the learning plan was developed based on students' real-life experiences, using visual media in the form of personal travel photos, and applying contextual and communicative learning strategies. The implementation was carried out in three stages: exploration of experiences through photos, writing drafts of the travel report, and presentation of the final written work. The use of personal travel photos proved effective in improving students’ writing skills by helping them recall their experiences and organize them into a structured report. The challenges faced included the fact that not all students had personal photos, varying writing abilities among students, and limited class time. However, these challenges were overcome through creative solutions such as providing alternative images, offering individual guidance, and using collaborative learning strategies. It can be concluded that personal travel photos are an effective learning tool in teaching report writing, particularly in developing students' ability to compose structured and meaningful travel reports.
