Abstract

The development of information technology encourages public services to transform into an efficient and accessible digital system. The DIGI-FORM website owned by the Madiun City Disdukcapil is present as a solution to digitize population services such as the creation of ID cards and family cards. However, preliminary evaluations show the user interface (UI) still has shortcomings in navigation, readability, and aesthetics, thus lowering user comfort. This study aims to evaluate and improve the UI design of the DIGI-FORM website using the Goal-Directed Design (GDD) method which focuses on the needs and objectives of the user. A mixed-method approach was used, through observation, interviews, and System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaires to 30 respondents. Initial results show an average SUS score of 78.33 (good category), but there is room for improvement. Redesign is carried out through six stages of GDD: Research, Modelling, Requirements, Framework, Refinement, and Support. Improvements include simplifying navigation, improving color contrast, rearranging layouts, and adding more intuitive visual elements.
