Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords: Self-confidence, learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the effect of self-confidence on the learning outcomes of Indonesian language of fifth grade students of SDN Wungu 01, Wungu District, Madiun Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of the study were 20 fifth grade students, class teachers, and several parents of students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation of student learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that students with high levels of self- confidence tend to have better learning outcomes than students with moderate or low self-confidence. Students who are confident appear active in learning activities, dare to ask questions, and are able to do assignments independently. Conversely, students with low self-confidence show passive behavior, are hesitant, and need a lot of help in understanding the subject matter. In addition, it was found that student self-confidence is influenced by several factors, namely: parental support, teacher teaching methods, previous successful experiences, peer social environment, and student personal character. This study concludes that self-confidence is one of the important factors that influences student learning outcomes, especially in Indonesian language subjects that require active participation and self-expression.
