Keywords: writing instructions, the PAIKEM approach, and origami games This research aims to describe and explain (1) improving the skills of writing instructions using the PAIKEM approach assisted by the origami game media of class IV students at SDN 1 Sukosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency and (2) the response of class IV students at SDN 1 Sukosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write instructions. using the PAIKEM approach assisted by origami game media. This research is classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this research are (1) the skill of writing instructions for class IV students at SDN 1 Sukosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency has increased by 25.9% from pre-cycle to cycle II after learning to write instructions using the PAIKEM approach through the origami game. The average value in the pre-cycle was 63.65 which was included in the sufficient category. Then the average value for cycle I was 69.45 which was included in the sufficient category. There was an increase in the results of instructional writing skills by 5.80. Meanwhile, the average score in cycle II was 80.14 which was in the good category, and (2) the response of class IV students at SDN 1 Sukosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency after taking part in learning to write instructions using the PAIKEM approach through the origami game media experienced a change to positive direction. This change in student behavior can be proven by non-test data. The non-test data includes, among other things, observations, student diaries, teacher diaries, and interviews. Based on the results of non-test data in cycle I, students' negative behavior was still visible during learning. In cycle II, students experienced changes in a more positive direction.
