Abstract
Manual financial recording remains a common practice in many communities, including the Komunitas pemuda Disun Wage. This manual approach presents several issues, such as the risk of data loss, dependence on physical documents, and inefficiency in the recording process. This research aims to address these problems by implementing Visual Document Understanding (VDU) technology using the Donut (Document Understanding Transformer) model. The Donut model is capable of extracting information from visual documents such as shopping receipts without requiring traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) processes. The objective of this research is to train, evaluate, and implement the Donut model in a web-based financial recording system. The system was developed using the Waterfall development method. Evaluation results show that the Donut model provides reasonably good performance, achieving a precision of 0.83, recall of 0.81, and an F1-score of 0.80. After the model was trained and tested, the next stage involved its implementation into the system. Once all functionalities were successfully integrated, the system was tested using the black box testing method. The testing results indicated that all system features functioned properly. With the implementation of this system, it is expected to support the Kmunitas Pemuda Dusun.
