Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a web-based student attendance information system to improve the effectiveness of attendance management in the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) Department at SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi. The previous manual attendance system faced several issues such as frequent recording errors, delays in data recap, and the risk of attendance data loss. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), as it is considered suitable for rapidly building applications with intensive user involvement. The result of this research is a web-based student attendance application developed using the Laravel framework, PHP programming language, MySQL as the database, and HTML for the user interface. Testing was carried out using the blackbox testing method, which showed that all functionalities operated well according to user requirements. Additionally, the System Usability Scale (SUS) method was used to evaluate user experience needs. The SUS testing produced an average score of 82.5, which falls into the Excellent category with a Grade Scale A. With this system, the attendance recording process is expected to become more effective, accurate, and efficient, while also supporting improvements in discipline and administrative quality in the TKJ department.
