Abstract
Elsha Shintawati, 2025. Instilling Nationalistic Values in History Learning at Madiun Regency Islamic Senior High School. History Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisors (I) Khoirul Huda, M.Pd. (II) Anjar Mukti Wibowo S.Sn., M.Pd. Keywords: Instilling values, Nationalism, History learning, Madrasah Aliyah. This research is motivated by the strategic role of history learning in shaping nationalist values amidst the challenges of globalization. One of the challenges of globalization is the development of technology that has the potential to shift nationalist values, where students tend to consume information without selection and thus fall prey to hoaxes. Then when students are asked to search for material on the internet, they are distracted by other content such as entertainment videos, social media, or irrelevant games, this shows that students are less able to sort out information. This study aims to describe in depth the process, forms, obstacles, and efforts of teachers in instilling nationalist values in history learning at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4, Madiun Regency, East Java. The method used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this study are using interviews with teachers, observation of the learning process, and documentation. Data validity uses source triangulation. The results of the study show: (1) the process of instilling nationalist values is carried out by linking the history of the nation's struggle and the exemplary role of national figures to the context of students' lives, using lecture methods, interactive discussions, and visual learning media such as historical videos. (2) The form used to instill nationalist values in history learning is that teachers link historical material with the exemplary role of national figures using lecture methods, discussions that stimulate student involvement, and the use of visual learning media such as historical videos. (3) The obstacles faced by teachers are differences in the level of students' understanding of the concept of nationalism and the low level of student interest in historical material. (4) The efforts made by teachers are to develop more contextual history learning strategies, utilize technology, and personal approaches to increase student involvement.
