Abstract

Recommendation System for Product Selection in Clothing Stores Using the Forward Chaining Model. This study aims to design and develop a product recommendation system to assist customers in selecting suitable clothing products based on user attributes such as gender, height, weight, skin tone, and clothing category. The system uses a Forward Chaining approach, a reasoning method that starts from facts to conclusions based on predefined rules. This method was chosen because it can mimic the reasoning process of an expert in providing recommendations based on user input data. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method with the Laravel framework and Tailwind CSS, and system testing was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The results of the System Usability Scale (SUS) testing with 31 respondents obtained an average score of 69.3, which falls into the “OK” category. Therefore, the system developed is proven to be feasible as a recommendation tool in the product selection process in clothing stores.
