Abstract

Field Work Practice (PKL) is an essential component in vocational education that equips students with real-world work experience. However, the monitoring process of PKL activities in many schools, including SMK Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Maospati, is still carried out manually using physical logbooks. This manual system leads to several issues, such as delayed reporting, document accumulation, and difficulties for supervising teachers in tracking student progress in real-time. This study aims to analyze the system requirements and design a web-based PKL monitoring information system that facilitates student activity recording and supports effective supervision by teachers. The research was conducted using the Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) method, which includes four main stages: planning, analysis, design, and implementation. Data collection techniques involved observation and interviews, while system modeling was carried out using Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams. The system prototype was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to measure its usability from the users’ perspective. The results indicate that the designed system supports daily journal entries, weekly activity summaries, and real-time supervision by teachers. The usability testing showed that the system falls into the acceptable category. Therefore, this prototype is expected to serve as an initial digital solution to enhance the effectiveness of PKL monitoring processes in vocational school environments.
