Abstract
Students' understanding of the electrical energy distribution system, particularly those based on renewable energy such as Solar Power Plants (SPP), remains a challenge in the learning process due to the limited availability of practical learning tools. This situation has prompted research aimed at designing and developing an SPP-based electrical energy distribution trainer as an interactive and practical learning tool. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trainer developed utilizes solar panels, a solar charge controller, batteries, an inverter, as well as miniature towers, transformers, and loads as the main components of the system. Validation results indicate that the trainer achieved a feasibility percentage of 82.25% from experts and 89.6% from students, both of which fall within the feasible category. With these results, the trainer is deemed capable of functioning effectively and has been positively received by users, making it suitable for use as an educational tool to enhance students' understanding of renewable energy-based electrical energy distribution.
