Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning and implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the Indonesian language subject for fourth-grade students at SDN Sekar II, Bojonegoro Regency. The background of the study is rooted in the shift of national education policy towards student-centered learning, flexibility, and project-based approaches. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, the fourth-grade teacher, and two students. The findings indicate that the teacher used teaching modules as the main guide and began implementing the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, focusing on differentiated and contextual learning. Despite limited media and facilities, the teacher managed to conduct engaging and student-centered instruction. Students responded positively to the learning method, although challenges such as lack of student focus, limited infrastructure, and suboptimal group collaboration were identified. The evaluation showed that students’ learning outcomes met the required standards, but improvements are needed in media use and classroom management. Continuous support from both the school and parents is essential to ensure the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.
