Abstract

The advancement of information technology has encouraged the application of expert systems in various fields, including diagnosing damage in electric bicycles. This study aims to design and develop an expert system for diagnosing electric bicycle malfunctions using the Forward Chaining method. The system was developed using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework and MySQL as the database. The system development followed the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which consists of requirements planning, design workshop, implementation, and testing phases. The system was evaluated using Black Box Testing, which confirmed that all features functioned as expected and received positive user feedback. This expert system can assist both users and workshops in identifying electric bicycle issues more efficiently and accurately. Future development suggestions include expanding the number of symptoms and damage types, improving the user interface, and performing regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and data security. Thus, this system is expected to provide an effective solution for diagnosing electric bicycle problems.
