Abstract

This study aims to describe the suitability of the material to learning outcomes and analyze linguistic aspects including sentence structure, diction, readability, and adherence to the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI) and the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI). The research method used was descriptive qualitative, using content analysis and documentation studies of the textbook, as well as data triangulation through interviews with Indonesian language teachers. The results showed that most of the material in the textbook aligns with the competency indicators of the Independent Curriculum, but some sections were too brief, too theoretical, or lack context. In terms of language, we found multitasking instructions, inappropriate use of loan terms, ambiguous sentences, and inconsistent writing formats. In conclusion, this textbook needs improvements in terms of material depth, exercise variety, and simplification and consistency of language to more effectively support students' achievement of literacy and character competencies as required by the Independent Curriculum.
