Abstract
The practicum manual was prepared to underline the importance of integrating local potential as teaching materials that are more contextual and effective for student learning. This study aims to develop a practicum manual based on vegetation analysis around Hill Petrok Ponorogo, as a supporting medium for learning in the Plant Ecology course. This research is a quantitative study that uses the quadrat plot method for floor vegetation and the census method for trees in identifying and analyzing plant structure and composition. The research was conducted around Hill Petrok Ponorogo with a total of 35 plots measuring 2 x 0.5 meters by random sampling. The results showed that there were 115 plant species from 52 families, with moss species (Andreaea rupestris) having the highest Index of Importance (INP) of 13.98%, while species with the lowest INP were several shrub and herbaceous species, which each had an INP of 0.20%. The average environmental factors around Bukit Petrok Ponorogo were air temperature 27.69⁰C, air humidity 81.89%, soil pH 6.84, soil moisture 63.8%, and light intensity 14,402.9 lx. The standard deviation values for air temperature 1.5°C, air humidity 5.4%, soil pH 0.1, soil moisture 5.2%, and light intensity 12,917.3 lx, indicate that there is a fairly low to moderate environmental variation, so the environment around Bukit Petrok is categorized as a fairly stable habitat for various types of vegetation. The Practicum Manual based on vegetation analysis around Hill Petrok Ponorogo, obtained a percentage of 69.33% from the material expert validator, 67.78% from the media expert validator, and obtained a positive response from students with an average score of 4.56, which indicates that this practicum manual is considered valid and feasible to use as teaching material to support learning based on local wisdom research.
