Abstract

The growing demand for electrical energy consumption, especially for smartphone charging in public areas, necessitates innovation in efficient power management. However, manual monitoring of electricity usage has several weaknesses, such as inaccurate data recording and reliance on direct human supervision. This study designs a smartphone charging station system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that integrates power consumption monitoring using an ESP32 microcontroller and a PZEM-004T sensor. The system is developed using the prototype method and utilizes the Blynk application as a remote monitoring platform. Test results show that the system can accurately monitor power consumption, send notifications when usage exceeds the set threshold, and automatically cut off the power to prevent energy waste. This system improves energy efficiency and provides transparency in smartphone charging rental services in public spaces. Keywords: Charging Station, ESP32, PZEM-004T, Blynk, Energy Efficiency
