Abstract
This research is motivated by the researcher's finding at SDN Bagi 02, Madiun District, that one student could only speak English. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the speaking ability of Farid Atallah, a student at SDN Bagi 02, Madiun District. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study, focusing on one individual for in-depth research. Data collection techniques included observation and interviews. Interviews were conducted with Student X as the primary subject, the class teacher, the student's parents, and neighbors. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the factors influencing Student X's ability to speak only English are: 1) Frequent use of his cell phone. 2) Lack of parental attention. These two factors are the causes of Student X's ability to speak only English.
