Abstract

Computational thinking is an essential skill that involves systematic problem-solving using computational concepts. In fifth-grade mathematics instruction, concerning the indicators of abstraction, generalization, decomposition, algorithmic thinking, and debugging, many students have not yet mastered these skills. This study aims to determine whether the Problem Posing learning model assisted by GeoGebra media is effective in enhancing computational thinking skills in solving mathematical word problems. The subjects of this study are fifth-grade students at SDN Mejayan 01. This research employs a quantitative approach with an Interrupted Time Series Design. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, with a sample size of 24 students. The research instruments consist of pre-tests and post-tests in mathematics for fifth grade. The results of the data analysis indicate a difference in the computational thinking abilities of fifth-grade students before and after learning using the Problem Posing learning model assisted by GeoGebra media, with the average score increasing from 69.38 to 83.54. Hypothesis testing shows that the p-value is <0.001, specifically 0.000 < 0.001. Therefore, the research results indicate that the Problem Posing learning model assisted by GeoGebra is effective in improving computational thinking abilities in solving mathematical word problems.
