Improving Narrative Writing Skills Using a Thematic Language Learning Method Assisted by Visual Story Media among Fifth-Grade Students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. Kata kunci: menulis, narasi, metode pembelajaran bahasa tematik, dan media cerita visual This study aims to describe and explain: (1) the use of the thematic language learning method to improve narrative writing skills among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo, Magetan District, Magetan Regency; and (2) the activities of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo, Magetan District, Magetan Regency, during narrative writing instruction through the thematic language learning method. This study employed a classroom action research design consisting of two cycles. The results of the study showed that: (1) the implementation of the thematic language learning method in Indonesian language instruction, particularly in narrative writing skills, was able to improve student activity among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. This was demonstrated by the results of observations of student activities, in which Cycle I obtained a total score of 21, with an average score of 2.33. In Cycle II, student activity increased, with a total score of 25.64 and an average score of 2.85; and (2) the implementation of the thematic language learning method in narrative writing instruction resulted in an improvement in students' writing skills. The evaluation results at the end of each cycle showed that in Cycle I, the lowest score was 55, the highest score was 85, the class average was 67.2, and the classical mastery level was 44%. In Cycle II, students' writing skills improved, with the lowest score of 65, the highest score of 90, a class average of 78.2, and a classical mastery level of 92%. It can be concluded that the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students had met the success indicator, namely achieving at least a good level of performance, with classical mastery reaching 80%, based on the Indonesian Language Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of ≥70.
