Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest and learning outcomes in IPAS (Natural and Social Science) of fifth-grade students at SDN Gedangsewu 1, Pare District, Kediri Regency. Based on pre-cycle data, only 33.3% of students (8 out of 24) achieved the Minimum Completeness Criterion (KKM) of 75, with a class average of 60.4 (Poor category). The class learning interest percentage was only 42.3% (Low category), caused by the dominance of conventional lecture methods without relevant and engaging learning media. The study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design implemented in two cycles with 24 fifth-grade students as research subjects. Results show that the application of CTL assisted by audiovisual media effectively increased learning interest from 42.3% (Low) in pre-cycle to 80.6% (Successful) in cycle II, and learning outcomes from an average of 60.4 (Poor) to 84.1 (Good) in cycle II, with 91.7% of students achieving mastery. All research success indicators were met in cycle II, confirming the effectiveness of CTL with audiovisual media in improving IPAS learning quality.
