Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning activeness of tenth-grade students in history subjects at MA Al-Burhan Pilangkenceng, which was caused by teacher-centered learning, the lack of supporting teaching materials besides the student worksheet (LKS), and the absence of innovative learning models and media. This study aims to describe the process of implementing Project Based Learning based on local history with infographic media in history learning, determine its effect on students' learning activeness, and identify the obstacles encountered in its implementation at MA Al-Burhan Pilangkenceng. This research used a qualitative approach in the form of field research. The data sources consisted of primary data, namely interviews with the history teacher and tenth-grade students, observation results, and documentation, as well as secondary data in the form of teaching modules, lesson plans (RPP), the school's profile, and literature references. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity checked using triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning based on local history with infographic media effectively improved students' learning activeness, as reflected in increased student participation in discussions, asking questions to the teacher, and expressing opinions. Nevertheless, several obstacles were found during implementation, such as limited facilities and infrastructure, limited internet access, differences in students' ability to use technology, and limited learning time. These obstacles could be minimized through appropriate learning strategies and the teacher's role as a facilitator. Thus, the Project Based Learning model based on local history with infographic media can be used as an innovative learning alternative to improve students' learning activeness.
