Analysis of Emotional Intelligence Representation in the Animated Film "Elemental: Force of Nature" by Peter Sohn and Its Relevance to Character Building for Grade II Students of SD Negeri Ngaglik 4, Kecamatan Parang, Kabupaten Magetan. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr.V.Teguh Suharto, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr.Dwi Rohman Soleh, S. S., M.Pd Keywords: emotional intelligence representation, Elemental film, character education, library research, elementary school This research is motivated by the importance of emotional intelligence as a foundation for student character building, yet the use of animated films as a medium for value reflection remains suboptimal. The objective is to analyze the representation of emotional intelligence in the film Elemental: Force of Nature and describe its relevance to character building for grade II elementary students. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with library research and document analysis. Data sources were film scenes, dialogues, and elementary character education documents. Data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques, then analyzed interactively through data reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that the film strongly represents aspects of emotional intelligence, including self-awareness (recognizing emotions), self-regulation (managing anger), motivation, empathy for differences, and social skills in resolving conflicts. These representations are relevant to character values instilled in grade II students, such as tolerance, cooperation, responsibility, and caring. The film also presents inter-character conflicts that can be used as reflective discussion material on emotional management. In conclusion, the film Elemental is rich in emotional intelligence messages and is feasible as a supporting medium for contextual and meaningful character education in elementary schools.

Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis representasi kecerdasan emosional dalam film Elemental: Force of Nature serta mendeskripsikan relevansinya terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa kelas II SD. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis studi kepustakaan dan analisis dokumen. Sumber data berupa adegan dan dialog film serta dokumen penguatan karakter SD. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak-catat, kemudian dianalisis secara interaktif melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film ini merepresentasikan aspek kecerdasan emosional secara kuat, mencakup kesadaran diri (mengenali emosi), pengaturan diri (mengelola amarah), motivasi, empati terhadap perbedaan, serta keterampilan sosial dalam menyelesaikan konflik. Representasi tersebut relevan dengan nilai-nilai karakter yang ditanamkan pada siswa kelas II, seperti toleransi, kerja sama, tanggung jawab, dan kepedulian. Film ini juga menyajikan konflik antartokoh yang dapat dijadikan bahan diskusi reflektif tentang pengelolaan emosi. Kesimpulannya, film Elemental kaya akan pesan kecerdasan emosional dan layak dijadikan media pendukung pembelajaran karakter yang kontekstual dan bermakna di sekolah dasar.. ABSTRACT Samiran. 2026.
