Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation media on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students in IPAS. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of fourth-grade students at SDN Jatirejo as the experimental class and fourth-grade students at SDN Ngadirejo 02 as the control class. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher mean post-test score 79.00 than the control class 56.36. The independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis H₀ was rejected and the alternative hypothesis Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. It can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation media is effective in improving the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students on the topic of force and motion.
