Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a Deep Learning approach supported by Augmented Reality media on the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), specifically regarding the human respiratory system. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 20 fifth-grade students from SDN Sirapan 01 (experimental group) and 18 fifth-grade students from SDN Sirapan 02 (control group). Data were collected via cognitive learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest) and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent sample t-test. The results indicate that the cognitive learning outcomes of students taught using the Deep Learning approach supported by Augmented Reality media were superior to those of students receiving conventional instruction. Hypothesis testing yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), leading to the acceptance of H₁. Thus, the Deep Learning approach supported by Augmented Reality media is proven effective for the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students in IPAS.
