Budiono. 2025. Improving Listening and Speaking Skills Through the Implementation of Audio Media-Based Fairy Tales for Fourth Grade Students of SDN Tondomulo II Kedungadem, Bojonegoro Regency. Keywords: listening skills, speaking skills, fairy tales, audio media This study aimed to improve students’ listening and speaking skills through the implementation of audio-based fairy tale media for fourth-grade students at SDN Tondomulo II, Kedungadem District, Bojonegoro Regency. This research employed classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 24 fourth-grade students. The research instruments included observation sheets of teacher and student activities, listening skill tests, speaking skill tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of audio-based fairy tale media significantly improved students’ listening and speaking skills. In Cycle I, students’ listening and speaking abilities showed initial improvement; however, not all students had achieved the minimum mastery criteria. After improvements were made in Cycle II, a more optimal increase was achieved in both the average scores and the percentage of learning mastery. Students were able to better comprehend the fairy tales, accurately identify story elements, and retell the stories orally using more coherent language, improved pronunciation and intonation, and increased confidence.
