The Development of Interactive Video Media for Teaching Short Story Writing to Fifth-Grade Students of SDN 1 Jingglong, Ponorogo District, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2025/2026. Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (I). Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S. S., M. Pd., Supervisor (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M. Pd. Keywords: Interactive Video Media, Short Story Writing, Research and Development, Elementary School This study aims to develop interactive video media that are feasible and effective for teaching short story writing to fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Jingglong, Ponorogo District, Ponorogo Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. The development of this media is based on students’ needs for engaging and interactive learning media that can enhance their short story writing skills. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Jingglong, the classroom teacher, as well as media and material expert validators. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and short story writing skill tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results indicate that the developed interactive video media are feasible for use based on the validation results from media and material experts. Furthermore, the use of interactive video media in short story writing instruction was able to improve students’ writing skills, as evidenced by increased writing test scores and positive responses from both students and teachers. Therefore, interactive video media are effective to be used as an alternative learning medium for teaching short story writing in elementary schools.
