Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of picture story�assisted reading comprehension instruction and to examine the improvement of reading comprehension skills of third-grade students at SDN Widodaren 3, Gerih District, Ngawi Regency. The background of this research is the low level of students’ reading comprehension skills, which are indicated by difficulties in identifying main ideas, answering comprehension questions, and understanding the text as a whole. Conventional reading instruction with limited use of engaging media often results in low student motivation and interest. Therefore, picture stories were used as instructional media to support more concrete and meaningful reading comprehension learning.
