Abstract
This study aims to improve the descriptive text writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Lengkong through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lengkong. Data were collected through descriptive text writing tests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media significantly improved students’ descriptive text writing skills, as indicated by the increase in average scores and learning mastery in each cycle. In addition, the use of AR media also enhanced students’ activeness and motivation in the learning process. Therefore, Augmented Reality (AR) media is effective as a learning medium to improve the descriptive text writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Lengkong.
