Abstract
This study has the following objectives: (1) to find differences in short story writing abilities between students taught using the concept map learning model and students taught using direct learning; (2) to find differences in short story writing abilities between students with high emotional intelligence and students with low emotional intelligence; (3) to find the interaction between the use of learning models and emotional intelligence in influencing short story writing abilities. The study was conducted in Class 5 of Sdn Se Gugus 2, Margomulyo District, Bojonegoro in the 2025/2026 academic year using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The results of the study concluded: (1) there are differences in short story writing abilities between students taught using the concept map learning model and students taught using direct learning; (2) there are differences in short story writing abilities between students with high emotional intelligence and students with low emotional intelligence; (3) there is an interaction between the use of learning models and emotional intelligence in influencing short story writing abilities.
