Keywords: writing, description, media, and audio video This research aims to describe (1) the application of audio video media can improve descriptive writing skills in class V students at SDN 6 Sawoo, Sawoo District, Ponorogo Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students at SDN 6 Sawoo, Sawoo District, Ponorogo Regency when learning to write descriptions using audio video media. This research is classroom action research with two research cycles. The conclusions of this research are (1) the application of audio video media can improve descriptive writing skills in class V students at SDN 6 Sawoo, Sawoo District, Ponorogo Regency, which can be seen from students' activities in learning. When learning to write descriptions using audio video media, students look more enthusiastic and actively ask questions and discuss. During the writing process, students are more focused on their work, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students at SDN 6 Sawoo, Sawoo District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write descriptions using audio video media have increased. Product improvement can be seen in the increase in student scores from pre-action to cycle II. Overall, improvement can be seen in the increase in the average value of writing pre-action descriptions up to cycle II. In the pre-action stage the average student score was 64.5, cycle I 69.5, and cycle II 73.5.
