Keywords: writing, descriptive text, mind mapping method, images This research aims to describe and explain: (1) the use of the mind mapping method combined with image media can improve descriptive text writing skills among fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Blembem, Ponorogo Regency, and (2) of the mind mapping method combined with image media increase student learning activity in descriptive text writing lessons.The results of this research indicate that: (1) the application of the mind mapping method and image media effectively improves the descriptive text writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Blembem. The process involved students identifying images, drafting ideas into a mind map, and subsequently developing that map into a complete descriptive essay; and (2) student learning outcomes showed that the average score for descriptive writing in the Pre-action stage was 60. In Cycle I, the average score increased to 68.75, The percentage of students who have reached the KKM is 56,25% or 9 students. After improvements were made in cycle II, the average percentage increased to 84.38. The percentage of students who have reached the KKM is 87.50% or 14 students. In cycle II, students who have achieved completeness have reached ≥ 70%. This has shown that the research carried out by researchers has achieved research success.
