Abstract
Erna Susanti. 2026. under the supervision of Dr Wasilatul Murtafiah, M.Pd. as Advisor I and Dr. Lingga Nico Pradana, M.Pd. as Advisor II, in her thesis entitled Development of Canva-Based Interactive Digital Media to Improve the Mathematical Literacy Skills of Fifth-Grade Students at SDN Kersoharjo 2 Geneng, aimed to produce an innovative, systematic, and relevant interactive digital learning media product tailored to the needs of elementary school students, particularly in the topic of ordering and comparing whole numbers. This research was motivated by the low level of students’ mathematical literacy skills, as reflected in their limited ability to understand numeracy concepts contextually, analyze problems, and interpret quantitative information in everyday life. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, which consisted of needs analysis to identify learning problems, product design using Canva, gradual media development, expert validation to ensure the feasibility of content and design, and field testing to empirically determine the effectiveness of the product. The research subjects were 29 fifth-grade students of SDN Kersoharjo 2 Geneng, and the data were collected through questionnaires, learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test), and structured and continuous classroom observations. The findings revealed that the developed Canva-based interactive digital media demonstrated a high level of feasibility and was proven to be effective in significantly improving students’ mathematical literacy skills. This effectiveness was indicated by an increase in the students’ average score from 77.97 in the pre- test to 85.59 in the post-test, showing a gain of 7.62 points or an improvement of 9.78%. The improvement reflects enhanced conceptual understanding, greater accuracy in ordering and comparing whole numbers, and improved logical and analytical thinking skills in solving literacy-based mathematical problems. Therefore, the developed Canva-based interactive digital media is not only feasible as an engaging and technology-adaptive alternative learning resource, but also effective in supporting the achievement of mathematics learning objectives at the elementary school level, particularly in strengthening the mathematical literacy competence of fifth-grade students at SDN Kersoharjo 2 Geneng.
