Abstract

This study aims to 1) describe the application of interactive video-assisted role-play techniques in teaching speaking skills to fourth-grade students at SDN Alasgung 2 Elementary School in Bojonegoro Regency; 2) describe the obstacles encountered in the process of applying interactive video-assisted role-play techniques in teaching speaking skills to fourth-grade students at SDN Alasgung 2 Elementary School in Bojonegoro Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with all fourth-grade students as the research subjects. The study was conducted from February to May 2025. The results of the study indicate that the application of interactive video�assisted role-play techniques in speaking lessons in grade IV at SDN Alasgung 2 Elementary School in Bojonegoro Regency is highly effective in improving students' speaking skills. The obstacles that arose during the application of interactive video-assisted role-play techniques included limited facilities and infrastructure, differences in speaking abilities and technological readiness among students, variations in motivation and concentration, limited time allocation, and uneven group dynamics. Thus, the application of role-play techniques with interactive videos can be used as an effective strategy to develop students' speaking skills in a fun and meaningful way.
