Abstract
This study aims to describe and analyze (1) the implementation of the imagination suggestion method assisted by visual media to improve poetry writing skills of fifthgrade students at SD Negeri Bareng 1, and (2) the students’ learning outcomes in poetry writing using this method. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The results indicate that (1) the implementation of the imagination suggestion method assisted by visual media effectively improves students’ poetry writing skills, as evidenced by the increased student learning activity from cycle I to cycle II; and (2) students’ learning outcomes in poetry writing improved, with an average percentage of 60,00% in cycle I and 80,00% in cycle II. Therefore, the imagination suggestion method assisted by visual media is effective in enhancing fifth-grade students’ poetry writing skill.
