Abstract
Abstrak Keywords: literacy media, Indonesian folklore, listening skills. This study aims to (1) describe and explain the use of literacy media in the form of Indonesian folklore in listening instruction for sixth-grade students at SDN Trenggulunan I, Ngasem District, Bojonegoro Regency, and (2) describe and explain the factors influencing the improvement of students’ listening skills through the use of Indonesian folklore media. This research employed a qualitative approach using classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 17 sixth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, listening skill tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the use of literacy media based on Indonesian folklore created a more engaging, interactive, and meaningful listening learning process. Students showed improvement in attention, concentration, and listening skills, including understanding the story content, identifying story elements, and drawing moral conclusions. The factors influencing the improvement of students’ listening skills include the use of contextual learning media, the application of varied and interactive teaching strategies, increased student motivation and interest, and the teacher’s role in managing the listening learning process.
