Abstract

The importance of a good facility layout is significant in increasing a company's production capacity and work effectiveness. At CV. Industri Kreatif Geger Madiun, inefficient layout issues were identified, such as untidy items, irregular process flows, and a high risk of workplace accidents. These conditions led to decreased productivity and frequently missed machine work deadlines. This study aims to propose an efficient workplace layout to streamline production flow, increase process efficiency, and maximize production capacity. Furthermore, this study aims to improve the previously irregular production process flow and simulate the resulting workflow using ProModel software to determine the resulting efficiency level. This study used the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) approach to determine the proximity relationships between work areas. The proposed layout design was carried out using the Blocplan application, while the visual representation was carried out using Autodesk Inventor. The researchers also measured standard time for each production process using a stopwatch method, which was tested through uniformity and data sufficiency tests. The design results and time data were then entered into the ProModel simulation application to test their efficiency. This research resulted in three proposed layouts. Based on the simulation comparison results, Layout 1 was declared the most efficient. This is because Layout 1 has a higher utilization rate for production space (18.98%) and for semi-finished goods storage (2.18%) compared to Layouts 2 and 3. By implementing this proposed layout, the company is expected to minimize waste in terms of time and materials.
