Abstract

ABSTRACT Robiatin. 2025. The Implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Assisted by Digital Comic Media to Enhance Motivation and Learning Outcomes in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) for Grade 5B Students at SDN 01 Taman, Madiun City. Thesis. Madiun: Social Science Education Master's Program, Postgraduate Faculty, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors: (I) Dr. Nurhadji Nugraha, S.Pd., M.M., (II) Dr. H.M. Rifai, M.Pd.I. Keywords: Contextual Approach, Digital Comics, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes, IPAS. Low motivation and learning outcomes in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) at the elementary school level are often triggered by minimal innovation in learning media that aligns with the characteristics of the digital generation. This study aims to address these challenges through the implementation of a contextual approach integrated with digital comic media. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis and Taggart model was selected as the methodology for this study. The research implemented a methodology divided into two continuous cycles. The subjects involved Grade 5B students at SDN 01 Taman, Madiun City. The results indicated a significant transformation in student learning dynamics. The level of learning motivation increased drastically, from an initial 39% in the preliminary condition to 86% by the end of the second cycle. A positive correlation was also observed in learning outcomes, where the mastery percentage reached 89% with an average score of 86. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the synergy between contextual learning methods and the use of digital media is capable of creating a more interactive, relevant, and effective learning environment. This innovation has proven successful in stimulating student motivation while simultaneously improving the overall quality of learning outcomes in the subject of IPAS.
