Abstract
Joko Siswanto. 2025. Implementation of Podcast-Based Collaborative Learning in Developing Speaking Skills of Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri 1 Gondang, Tugu District, Trenggalek Regency, Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Graduate School of PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd Keywords: collaborative learning, podcast, speaking skills, digital literacy, elementary school. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of collaborative learning based on podcasts in developing speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Gondang, Tugu District, Trenggalek Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach using a field study design. The research subjects consisted of a fifth-grade teacher and 24 students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The results indicate that the planning of podcast-based collaborative learning was systematically designed by determining speaking skill objectives, organizing collaborative groups, selecting contextual podcast topics, and preparing performance-based assessment instruments. The implementation of learning was active and participatory, characterized by students’ involvement in group discussions, oral script preparation, speaking practice, and podcast production as a collaborative product. This learning approach contributed to improvements in students’ confidence, fluency, and coherence in speaking. Challenges encountered included technical limitations and varying speaking abilities among students; however, these issues were addressed through teacher guidance and role distribution within groups. The study concludes that podcast-based collaborative learning is effective in enhancing elementary students’ speaking skills and supports the development of digital literacy in language learning.
