Abstract
ABSTRACT Didik Herynawanto. 2025. Implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesian Language Learning at SD Negeri 1 Wilangan, Wilangan Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency. Tesis. Madiun: Program Studi Magister, Pendidikan Bahasa Dan Sastra Indonesia, Sekolah Pascasarjana, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Pembimbing (I) Prof. Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Muhammad Binur H, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: Merdeka Curriculum, Indonesian language learning, curriculum implementation, elementary school. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesian language learning at SD Negeri 1 Wilangan, Wilangan District, Nganjuk Regency, to identify the challenges faced by teachers in its implementation, and to analyze the strategies employed to overcome these challenges. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research subjects include classroom teachers at SD Negeri 1 Wilangan. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented in Indonesian language learning by referring to the Learning Outcomes and the Learning Objectives Flow, and by applying student-centered learning approaches. Teachers have attempted to implement contextual learning, differentiated instruction, and formative assessment; however, the implementation has not yet been fully optimal. The challenges encountered include limited teacher understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum concepts, difficulties in developing teaching modules, limited facilities and infrastructure, and variations in students’ abilities. To address these challenges, teachers have implemented various strategies, such as participating in training programs, collaborating with fellow teachers, utilizing alternative learning resources, and adapting teaching methods to students’ conditions. Therefore, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesian language learning at SD Negeri 1 Wilangan shows positive progress, although continuous support and guidance are still required.
