Ali Mustofa. 2025. Improving Initial Writing Skills Using the Recitation Method in Class II Students of SDN 3 Pomahan, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency. Theses. Keywords: learning, writing beginnings, methods, and recitations This research aims to describe and explain (1) the recitation method can improve the beginning writing skills of class II students at SDN 3 Pomahan, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class II students at SDN 3 Pomahan, Pulung District, Ponorogo District in learning to write beginnings using the recitation method. This research is classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this research are (1) the recitation method can improve students' initial writing skills. Efforts to improve initial writing skills through the recitation method are carried out by giving various assignments to students. In cycle I, meetings I to III, students were given the task of circling writing errors in a reading text, then students were asked to correct the errors found. In cycle II, the first meeting consisted of making a book summarizing the material by paying attention to the rules of initial writing, in the second meeting the assignment consisted of arranging random words into good sentences, in the third meeting the assignment consisted of completing missing sentences and correcting writing errors on the assignment sheet, and (2 ) Student learning outcomes in initial writing learning using the recitation method are characterized by an increase in the average student score and the percentage of achievement of success criteria. The average student score during pre-action was 63.65 with a percentage of achieving success criteria of 27.59%. In cycle I, the average initial writing ability score for students was 66.03 with a percentage of achieving success criteria of 34.48%. The average value of students' initial writing ability in cycle II was 75.08 with a percentage of success criteria achieved of 75.86%.
