Thesis. Madiun: Master Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate Program, PGRI University of Madiun. Advisors: (I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Writing Skills, IT-Based Image Media This study aims to determine whether: (1) the use of IT-based image media can improve students' skills in writing simple essays in thematic learning that contains Indonesian language for third-grade students of SDN Mlilir 03, Dolopo District, Madiun Regency, Academic Year 2024/2025; and (2) the use of IT-based image media can improve the quality of student activity during simple essay writing learning. The research method used is Classroom Action Research. Data sources used are informants, events, and documents. Informants in this study are the school principal, class teacher, and third-grade students. Events in this study are all forms of learning activities in the classroom. Documents in this study are lesson plans, IT-based image media, syllabus, and score lists. Data collection techniques use tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses triangulation method with sources. The results show that there is an improvement in students' skills in writing simple essays by utilizing IT-based image media. The use of IT-based image media also improves the quality of student activity during learning, including student readiness, active response to teacher explanations/questions, attention to presented image media, student participation in group work, and student attitudes during learning.
