Keywords: writing, poetry, method, and synectics This research aims to describe and explain (1) the use of the synectic method can improve the poetry writing skills of class V students at SDN 2 Karanglo Kidul, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students at SDN 2 Karanglo Kidul, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write. poetry uses synectics. The results of this research are (1) the use of the synectic method can improve the poetry writing skills of fifth grade students at SDN 2 Karanglo Kidul, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency. The process carried out in this research is that students describe the current situation, students make direct analogies, students make personal analogies, students analyze solid conflicts, students make direct analogies again, and students re-examine the initial assignment, and (2) student learning results show that on average The average poetry writing test at the Pre-Action stage was 60.65. In cycle I the average percentage increased to 68.26. The percentage of students who have reached the KKM is 60.86% or 14 students. After improvements were made in cycle II, the average percentage increased to 78.91. The percentage of students who have reached the KKM is 91.30% or 21 students. In cycle II, students who have achieved completeness have reached ≥ 75%. This has shown that the research carried out by researchers has achieved research success.
