Abstract

This study aims to improve the numeracy literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Nglanduk 02 through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by the Piramida Store media. The background of this study is the low numeracy literacy skills of students identified through initial observations. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through interviews, tests (pretests and posttests), observation of student activities, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the application of the PBL model with the Piramida Store media successfully improved students' numeracy literacy skills. In the pre-cycle, only 45.45% of students met the Minimum Competency Criteria (MCC). After Cycle I, the competency rate increased to 72.72%, and in Cycle II it reached 90.90%. The average student score also improved from 71.82 in the pre-cycle to 88.18 in Cycle II. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Piramida Store media-assisted PBL model is effective in improving students' numeracy literacy skills, making learning more interesting and meaningful. Students are directly involved, actively participate, and build their own understanding in learning through problem solving in the PBL model and assisted by the Piramida Store media, which facilitates students in learning with real contexts. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in implementing innovative and contextual learning methods.
