Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the influence of institutional ownership and cash holdings on capital structure, with asset growth as a moderating variable, in consumer cyclicals sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020-2025 period. The study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the companies' annual financial reports. Purposive sampling was used based on established criteria. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the aid of IBM SPSS software. The results indicate that institutional ownership has a positive and significant effect on capital structure, whereas cash holdings do not have a significant effect on capital structure. The MRA results show that asset growth does not moderate the influence of institutional ownership on capital structure, nor does it moderate the influence of cash holdings on capital structure.
