Improving Poetry Writing Skills Through Participatory and Collaborative Approaches Assisted by Environmental Media for Fifth Grade Students of Brodot 2 Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency. Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor (I) Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo., M.Pd, S.E., M.Si.; (II) Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, SS.M.Pd Keywords: writing, poetry, participatory and collaborative, and the surrounding environment This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of participatory and collaborative approaches assisted by environmental media in learning to write poetry for fifth-grade students of Brodot 2 Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency and (2) the activities of fifth-grade students of Brodot 2 Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency in participating in learning to write poetry through participatory and collaborative approaches assisted by environmental media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the average value of students is 61.97 with the sufficient category. The average value after the first cycle of action is 64,2 with the sufficient category. The average value of students after the second cycle of action is 90,60 with the good category, and (2) students' activities towards environmental media as a way of learning to write poetry are very positive. Based on the results of interviews in the first cycle, on average they responded positively to the learning that has been delivered by the teacher. In addition, based on the results of observations in Cycle I, 75% of the total number of students, they paid close attention to the teacher's explanation during the learning process, even in Cycle II the number of students who liked 90%, they really liked learning with environmental media. Likewise with student activity, in Cycle I, students who were inactive were 25%, but in Cycle II, inactive students decreased to 10% or around 4 students.
