Abstract

The reading literacy category score results in the 2022 PISA test show that Indonesia is still at a low level, ranked 71st out of 81 st countries. This requires efforts to improve the teaching of reading for students, especially teenagers. This research aims to find students' perceptions and look for strengths and weaknesses in using Game-Based Learning methods with Jigsaw Puzzle media in reading class. This research included 26 students in class 8E at SMPN 6 Madiun. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, which involves conducting documentation, in-depth interviews, and objective observations. The data collection technique uses interactive analysis or three flows of thought. The findings in widespread student perceptions of reading learning and a long interest in participating in class activities. The strengths and weaknesses of using Game-Based Learning and Jigsaw Puzzles in the continuity of reading activities were also found on post-activities.
