Abstract

Antioxidants are chemical substances that are useful for inhibiting the formation of free radicals by preventing the oxidation reaction of the free radical chain, delaying or inhibiting the oxidation process, or by slowing down lipid peroxide. use of antioxidants from natural ingredients as an alternative treatment. One example of antioxidants from natural ingredients comes from kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix DC), lime (Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle) and grapefruit (Citrus maxima (Burm) Merr). This research is a laboratory experimental research. The aim of the research was to determine the antioxidant activity of a combination of citrus hystrix DC, citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle and citrus maxima (Burm) Merr leaf extracts using the DPPH method with UV-vis spectrovotometry instruments. The IC50 value of a single extract of Citrus hystrix DC leaves is 182.20 µg/ml in the medium category. The IC50 value of the single extract of Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle is 88.76 µg/ml in the strong category. The IC50 value of Citrus maxima (Burm.) merr single extract is 162.25 µg/ml in the medium category. The IC50 value of the combination of Citrus hystrix DC, Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle and Citrus maxima (Burm.) merr leaf extracts is 53.48 µg/ml in the strong category. Based on statistical tests using the One Way Anova method, there is no significant difference between the single extract and the combination of Citrus Hystrix DC, Citrus Aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle and Citrus Maxima (Burm) Merr Leaf Extracts with vitamin C. It can be concluded that statistically it is effective This extract can be used as an alternative natural antioxidant.
