Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out whether: (1) the use of IT-based image media can improve students' skills in writing simple essays in thematic learning containing Indonesian language for class III students at SDN Jogorogo 1, Jogorogo District, Ngawi Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year; and (2) the use of IT-based image media can improve the quality of student activities during learning to write simple essays for class III students at SDN Jogorogo 1, Jogorogo District, Ngawi Regency for the 2023/2024. The research results showed that there was an increase in students' skills in writing simple essays by utilizing IT-based image media. in simple essay writing skills in Prasiklus, only 7 out of 21 students got a score above 65 or only around 33.33% of students completed it. After the implementation of Cycle I, the number of students who completed the test increased to 11 out of 12 students or 52% of students completed. Meanwhile, at the end of Cycle II, all 12 students completed or got a score above 65 or classical completion reached 100%. Thus, these results have proven that the Performance Indicators in this research have been successfully achieved, namely more than 75% of students got a complete score in the skill of writing simple essays using IT-based image media.
