Abstract

Mohammad Farizal Firdaus 2024. Expert System for Diagnosing Engine Damage in Toyota Kijang Inova Cars Using the Forward Chaining Method. Thesis. Informatics Engineering Study Program, FT, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Sri Anardani, S.Kom., M.T. (II) Puguh Jayadi, S.Kom., M.Kom. Expert systems are part of artificial intelligence that combines the experience and knowledge of experts in a particular field. This study aims to design and develop an expert system for diagnosing engine damage to Toyota Kijang Innova cars using the forward chaining method. This system is designed to help Toyota Kijang Innova car users identify and diagnose engine damage earlier without having to visit a repair shop. Thus, it is hoped that this system can provide a more efficient and practical solution for car users. The results of the study show that the system built is able to diagnose various engine damage based on the symptoms experienced by the user. The implementation of the system using the forward chaining method has proven effective in matching symptoms with possible damage that occurs. System testing using the black box method shows that the system works well and can provide accurate diagnosis results. Conclusion The expert system developed has succeeded in achieving the research objectives, namely to help users diagnose engine damage to Toyota Kijang Innova cars quickly and accurately. Thus, this system can save time and costs for users, as well as reduce the frequency of visits to repair shops. This system is expected to continue to be developed to cover other types of cars and add types of damage that can be diagnosed.
